My Collection – Eye Creams

Another instalment of the ‘My Collection’ series. This time, eye creams!

Ok, I must admit, I don’t actually think you need an eye cream as such, especially at a young age. They’re in my routine because I like them to be. So please don’t panic and think you need one if you can’t afford/need it, you can just take your favourite moisturiser (lightly) under and over your eyes for hydration.
Many suffer with dry under eyes/lids, so a cream to concentrate on the eyes specifically is a nice add on to their routine, especially with ingredients such as hyaluronic acid, ceramides and niacinamide to name just a few.
For those who are down about fine lines/wrinkles might want to look into retinol eye creams, as vitamin A is specific for those needs.
But as mentioned, you don’t need them.

Let’s go…

Sunday Riley – Auto Correct

Received this in the Spring Kits by Caroline Hirons.

This has a lovely, instant gratification under the eye area as there is a slight tint to it, don’t let this scare you though, it just leaves a nice radiance on the skin.
You can use this AM or PM, being a glowing, brightening product, I use this mainly in the AM, but sometimes I do want to look like an angel’s halo in the evening, so will apply both.

The ingredients are great, but Sunday Riley’s brand as a whole, you can’t go wrong, you get what you pay for.

The packaging is just beautiful, though I hear mixed opinions on Sunday Riley’s packaging, some thing having such a large box for a significantly smaller item, is a waste, and I get it, but I also bloody love it.

This would suit any age group in my opinion. I however won’t be repurchasing, simply on the price, it’s expensive. I know of cheaper brands which do eye products which are just as good as Sunday Riley’s, doesn’t mean I don’t love it though.
If you want eye products but don’t exactly need them, put your money into your serums/moisturisers and get more budget friendly eye products, (I have some coming up).

The Inkey List – Caffeine Eye Cream

Kind of cheating with this one here as I have given this to my mum, I have too many eye creams for someone who doesn’t specifically need eye creams…

This product is a really affordable eye cream that does what it says on the tin. Unfragranced, creamy, hydrating. Can be used AM and PM.

I really like The Inkey List, as they deliver on products in a faff free, budget friendly manner.
My pet hate though, is when people say ‘inkey list’ (the brand) instead of inci list (ingredients list), but that’s just me being pedantic.

This leaves a really cooling feeling on they eyes post application, which is what I like to get out of my AM eye products, to feel more awake and ready for the day.
It’s also a nice smooth base for make up to go on top, some eye products I find can crease, this does not.

Pixi – Collagen Eye Serum

The product I’ve been using the longest out of the bunch.

The reason I use this so regularly, is collagen boosting ingredients reduce the appearance of fine lines, which as you know I try to slow down any signs of ageing with the products I use.

I like this for my PM eye product, as it’s fast absorbing gel like texture sinks into the skin, rather than ‘brightening’, it works deeper into the skin and focusing on other factors than how it looks sitting under the eyes.

Another great point is that it lasts for ages! It’s the largest amount out of the collection, being an extra 10ml more than the others. So as well as being an affordable eye serum, it’ll do you well for longer.

This is a fab product if you want to dip your toes into the ‘eye cream-a-sphere’.

Origins – GinZing Eye Cream

I have personally saved the best till’ last in my opinion.

I bloody love this stuff.
The reason for buying was, I wanted a nice AM eye cream to slide into my routine. I’ve always known of this product, seen it while I was scrolling through a plethora of eye products and stumbled upon buying it.

The pay off is literally immediate, it’s almost like a gloss, with shimmer mixed in to the peachy/pinky coloured cream. Don’t want to sound cliché, but this really does make your eyes ‘BING’.

The only downfall is the tub itself, although it’s a beautiful, orange, glass tub, a pump or squeezy bottle is more hygienic.
It’s fragrance free, but does have a citrus, ‘ginzing’ smell to it, and it’s lovely. Coffee is it’s main active ingredient, which gives it that bright, awake look. The inci list is amazing.

It’s advertised to use just in the AM ‘or as needed’.
For dark/sunken under eyes similar to mine, this is perfect. A really fall in love product I think.
