EEK! My first ever Cult Beauty order has arrived!
Most of the purchases I make in regards to skincare/beauty, come from Superdrug, Boots, Look Fantastic and the Spring Kits from Caroline Hirons.
But I discovered Cult Beauty and I was in skincare heaven. They work with a lot of brands so you can definitely find what you’re looking for, whatever your budget, (and not just skincare)
Lets take a look shall we…
The Ordinary – Squalane Cleanser
Ok, I’m a little bit of a cleanser addict. I didn’t need this, but I’ve heard too many people banging on about it I just had to try, it’s cheap as chips so I don’t feel guilty about it either.
It feels lovely, creamy substance when it’s decanted, turning into an oil when massaged. It’s a little bit like Dermalocia’s Pre Cleanse, but with no fragrance.
Really clean feeling after use.

Josh Rosebrook – Hydrating Accelerator
Now, this bottle of goodness was the thing I was most looking forward to getting my hands on from this box. I did a poll about a week ago what facial mist I should go for, this came up far above the rest.
I tried this almost instantly after opening the box… WOW. My face feels so soft after using it, it’s like I’ve just moisturised. And it doesn’t leave a sticky, wet feeling behind. It soaks right into the skin, just lush.
It’s not overly pricey either so really worth checking out!

Pixi – Milky Tonic
Now I was very close to getting the mist version of this, but being that I already purchased the Josh Rosebrook, I decided to stick to my trusty 250ml bottle.
This was a ‘buy before I run out of my current bottle’ purchase. Unlike Pixi’s Glow and Retinol tonics, this isn’t ‘acid based’, which means it isn’t used as a chemical exfoliant, more of a hydration boost (contains HA).
This doesn’t do anything life changing for my skin, but I do like the way it feels after application. I tend to use this in between the nights I am using acid exfoliants/retinol, and almost every morning. For the price, you can’t complain.
A very subtle floral / spa like smell.

Supergoop – Unseen Sunscreen
SPF time. I’ve kind of fallen down the rabbit hole of finding decent SPFs. I am currently using La Roche Posay as my ‘main’ SPF, which I’m really enjoying, and I also have the Medik8, but damn it’s expensive.
This is another example of hearing enough people talking about it, I had to see what the fuss was. So here I am.
Haven’t tried it as of yet but I’m going to do a separate SPF post, so will have tried this by the time I get round to doing that. This also comes in a bigger size.

Glow Recipe – My Glow Vanity
Originally, I had the Watermelon Glow sleeping mask in my basket, but then I seen this cute little kit and thought why not. The mask is in a little 20ml jar, this way, if I don’t like it, I know I don’t need to buy the full sized product.
I know Glow Recipe won’t be everyone’s cup of tea, there’s nothing awful about the brand but it might not do much for a mature skin.
I tried some of the Glow mist before sitting down to write this post, it’s nice, just nice. It’s what it says on the tin, ultra fine, which I do really like, doesn’t feel like you’ve just dunked your head under Niagara Falls. But I think after trying the Josh Rosebrook, it can’t even come close on how it feels post application.
This also comes with a ‘Banana Souffle’ moisturising cream, it smells like banana milkshake, maybe not as potent. I love the smell of banana, but will have to see how I go with it being all on my face, I’ll be sure to update.

Edit: Banana moisturiser applied this morning, it actually has a lovely texture, really light and hydrating. The smell isn’t as banana-y as I thought it was going to be, it’s more like a nice smelling suncream. I did apply a HA underneath this morning but I do feel this alone will be strong enough on it’s own. Skin is a little sticky now, possibly might not be great under make-up, but I could be wrong. I would recommend this as a great ‘starting out’ product for late teens/early twenties just getting into a skin routine.
Free Items – Charlotte Tilbury & Dr. Jart
Depending on what/how much you buy, Cult Beauty usually let’s you choose some free items to put into your basket before check out. These two looked the most interesting to me. I could have gone without but, if they’re free, why not?
So these are samples of Charlotte Tilbury’s lipsticks from the K.I.S.S.I.N.G and Matte Revolution range. I’m not going to say much about these,as they are free samples, BUT, I hate the whole peeling off a sticker like a packet of wet wipes to find a clump of lippy you then somehow have to apply to your lips. I’d much rather have the one, single, small sized lipstick tube. I’m sure the colours and formula are lovely though.
So the only reason I chose this sample was the brand. Dr. Jart is raved about by a lot of skincare experts and bloggers, so I thought I’d give this one a go.
This is a water cream moisturiser and eye cream duo, seems ok. Leave a comment if you’ve tried this and let me know what you think.
Sadly, it’s the end of this unboxing. I wish I had more goodies to show but it makes the next order more exciting.
Let me know if any products have caught your eye, or if you’d like me to go into a product even further. What should I add to my wish list next? Leave your comments!
