Body care time! I need to throw my opinion of these lovelies out there before I combust. As much as it’s great to take care of the skin on our face, your body also needs to be looked after daily too. Regular exfoliation and moisturisation of the skin is vital, this helps the skin in it’s natural shredding process, and locks in moisture which prevents dry, callus skin, especially around the knee caps and elbows.
But I can’t be the only person who completely despises going to bed with a thick residue covering my body, my boyfriend isn’t too much of a fan either as the big spoon. So I did my research into creams that sink in, rather than stay on the surface, Aveeno kept on popping up. And I’m now not surprised.
There are a range of different formulas and smells, mine is the creamy oil with an almond scent, I smell like a delicious battenberg or glass of amaretto after application, (so if you’re not big on sweet smells this isn’t the one for you). Vanilla & Oat and Apricot & Honey Yoghurt are also scents in the Daily Moisturing range. If you’re fragrance free completetly, there are products which acompany that, See here. I will definately be purchasing other scents in the range, formualtion is key, smelling gorgeous is just a bonus.
As pictured, I also have the moisturising cream, which I use as a hand cream, and sometimes for my elbows throughout the day. It’s nearly all gone. Like the creamy oil, and many other Aveeno products, it is made with colloidal oatmeal.
I’ve used the moisturising cream on my hands for years, doing beauty therapy in the past, and working in fast food now, means hands are almost always wet/working, this caused some bouts of dermatitis, dry, sore and cracked hands. Regular use of this and they were healed within a couple of weeks!
When purchasing the Creamy Oil, I wasn’t 100% sure what to expect, a cream? an oil? Would it feel greasy like an oil or thick like a cream? But as it’s title suggests it’s kind of a bit of both, white and thick like a cream, but has a lovely shine to it like freshly whipped meringue. When massaged in it leaves a slight gloss to the skin and instant absorbtion, and I mean instant.
Some body moisturisers I feel, one swipe of the hand and it’s gone, meaning I use up more product, but Aveeno covers a lot of surface area with just 1 or 2 pumps being nesessary, which in turn, means saving some £.
I purchased my Aveeno at Superdrug. But there are plenty of other places to find them, Boots, Look Fantastic and Chemist Connect to name just a few.
That’s all folks! What are your favourite Aveeno products / body moisturisers, I’d love to build my collection.
